On July 13, 2025, I brought my music to THE VIRGIL in Los Angeles, California.

Playing outside your home city means something. It tells you the work can travel. A crowd that has never heard your name can still connect with the energy, the rhythm and the message.

Chicago and Los Angeles have very different styles, but they share the same hunger. Both are cities where artists come to be heard, and I was glad to share that room with people who came for the music.

Here’s how it went. I left Chicago right after hosting an event in my studio, (the first official Team Love Freely Studios location.) Got on a train at the Chicago transit station and took off to the airport. After arriving in LA I enjoyed the scenery and the local establishments. Once the show began I immediately felt the pressure of the room, I’d traveled to another part of the USA with no friends or connections, pure determination and love for the craft. I rocked the stage along side many other amazing artists. I was told Atlantic records were in the room also. At the end of the show, I was so overwhelmed with how much had transpired to get me to that point that I stepped away from the public eye to let off some steam. I enjoyed every moment of that journey, and where it has led me today!

Every show is a lesson. You learn what lands, what needs work and what the audience is really asking for. Every date on the calendar is a chance to take notes for what comes next.
